Details

One of only 1,806 Bosses built in 1971. This electrifying 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 is a prime example of one of Ford's last true muscle cars. This car has exceptional documentation, which is all included. As the Marti Report, original Ford Customer Service Division letter, original Ford invoice (Lois Eminger Report), copy of original Build Sheet and two original dealership Bill of Sales document, this car was ordered with a Bright Blue Metallic exterior, blue knitted vinyl bucket seats

interior and the following options: bumper guards, Magnum 500 chrome wheels, F60x15 wide oval belted raised-white-letter tires, Mach 1 Sports interior option, AM radio, console, power steering, optional axle ratio and Traction-Lok differential. According to the Marti Report, only 246 were painted Bright Blue Metallic, of which 21 had blue knitted vinyl bucket seats. Of those, seven were equipped with Magnum 500 chrome wheels. Of those, five of them came with power steering. Of those, four were produced with consoles. Of those, three had AM radios - and this is one of those Mustangs. This car was shipped to and sold by Younts-Mays Downtown Ford in St. Louis, MO. It was purchased by Joseph Graves, who lived in Woodson Terrace, MO, on April 29, 1971. Other documentation includes the original bank loan agreement, original owner's manual, warranty booklet with original metal tag, original Ford Consumer Information for U.S. Department of Transportation with VIN, copy of title from 1971, original Missouri inspection form from 1971, 1972 and 1976, original Missouri registrations from 1971 and 1977, reproduction Window Sticker and an original photo of the car being detailed in the 1970s. The car was purchased by its last owner from the second owner in 2004. As the Florida title application and current title indicate, it was purchased on June 4, 2004, with 24,859 actual miles. Photos of the car at the time of purchase in 2004 are included. The long-term owner admired the car for many years before deciding to do a complete nut-and-bolt restoration, which began in 2013. It was restored as correctly as possible using many of its original parts. After completion in 2016 it has strictly been used as a show car, and it has racked up some prestigious awards from 16 judged shows. Some of the awards include two MCA Silver awards, eight MCA Gold awards, four Mustang Club Regional Gold and First Place awards, and two AACA Junior and Senior awards. All of the judging sheets with awards verification are included. It was featured in the MCA Mustang Times magazine multiple times. The main magazine and pages from other magazines are included. The car retains original sheet metal and was refinished in its original factory color of Bright Blue Metallic, which is stunning. The car sits on 15x7 Magnum 500 chrome wheels that are wrapped with F60x15 Firestone Wide 60 Oval raised-white-letter tires. The interior was refinished in its original factory color of blue knitted vinyl, which is rare and complements the exterior perfectly. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout and very correct. The car is powered by the original matching-numbers 351-4V Boss V8 engine that was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. The engine was factory-rated with 330hp and 370 ft/lbs of torque, which was more than enough to slap around many big-blocks. In fact, the performance of the Boss 351 was only a tick under the previous Boss 429 Mustang. The engine is fed from the authentic Autolite 4300 carburetor. The engine breathes through a dual-exhaust system that sounds awesome. The engine is coupled to the original matching-numbers 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission and original Traction-Lok rear axle with 3.91 gears. The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout and very correct. This car was recently serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that is included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
