Details
This Chevelle was built by Steve Magnante for the TV program 'Rides Reunited.' The theme was to locate a car from someone's past and restore it for them. In this case, the owner's original car was not located, but this 1971 Chevelle was found and stripped of its body, and a 1970 Chevelle tribute was created. All the sheet metal, except the roof and trunk, was replaced with that of the '70 Chevelle. All chrome and trim was replaced as well to create the 1970 body. The small-block Chevy engine was
built by JMS Racing Engines in Monrovia, CA, and was bored and stroked to be 383ci. The engine is equipped with Holley aluminum heads, intake and a 780 cfm double-pumper carburetor. It was dyno-tested at 425hp and 475 ft/lbs of torque. The transmission is a Tremec 5-speed with an aluminum driveshaft going to a Strange S60 rear end with 3.73 gears. The suspension is equipped with Bilstein shocks and Hotchkis swaybars, springs and rear suspension. The brakes are Baer discs front and rear with slotted and drilled rotors. The wheels are Chrome Rallys with Nitto tires. The interior is all new in the original black.
