1970 OLDSMOBILE TORONADO GT 2 DOOR HARDTOP

Very nice original matching numbers GT equipped with the Rocket 455 W34 engine package. 55,736 original miles and in excellent shape for its age with original Nugget Gold Metallic paint, white vinyl top and immaculate black interior. This car had one lady owner for 35 years, after her husband bought it for her brand new. Since then I have owned the car for 5 years with little use. Recently serviced in November 2010, this front wheel drive, luxury muscle car has always been garaged and well maintained, with a binder full of maintenance records, right down to a commemorative coin when sold new. It has power windows, power seats that tilt, AM/FM radio, tilt wheel, cruise control, a rolling tachometer and a whole slew of other luxury options with no paint or mechanical modifications. 1970 was the only year Oldsmobile had a GT W34 designation available for the Toronado, which is a highly sought after package offered by the factory. The Rocket 455cid V8 engine had 400hp, larger intake valves, a performance cam, a special Turbo Hydra-matic 425 automatic transmission with a higher stall speed torque converter and rear bumper cut-outs for the dual exhaust system. The GT option provides an additional 25hp boost over the standard Rocket 455cid V8 engine. The special Turbo Hydra-matic transmission reportedly improved the force of acceleration by 1,500 lbs at 5 mph, and held the engine speed at or near the peak torque speed for a greater period of time.
