This is not your 'run of the mill' Pace Car replica sold to the public in 1970, this is a real 'Indy 500' Parade Lap car. On May 30, 1970 it was on the Parade Lap, car #121 of only a hand full that actually saw real track duty at the Indy 500. It was assigned to and operated on the track by a GM

engineer of the time, Dale Smith, who enjoyed it while driving around the track for the Parade Laps as well as the full Indy week of activities prior to it being returned to the local dealer and sold to the public. Original documentation to support this is includes, both the Indy Pace Car information documents as well as the original owner's manual. Oldsmobile produced only 358 convertible Pace Car replicas for sale to the Public. Very few were true Parade Lap cars, as this one was. It was also a very highly optioned car from the factory, having power steering, power brakes, disc brakes, power top, rare air conditioning which blows ice cold with its recent R12 re-charge, bucket Strato seats, Rally wheels, center console, W-31 Ram Air hood, tilt steering column, AM/FM stereo radio, sport mirrors, black leather interior, courtesy lights, heavy duty suspension and the Pace Car decals all under the special order Y74 option code. In 2011 an extensive restoration was performed with great attention to correct factory details. Inclusive of engine and transmission rebuild but not limited to, rebuilt top hydraulics and arms, exhaust system, brakes, shocks, bearings, as well as period correct radial tires for better driving than the stock bias-ply tires. Less than 250 miles have been logged since it's restoration.
