It also retains its completely rebuilt matching-numbers drivetrain with a 302ci 8-cylinder engine and close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission that sends power to the pavement through a 4.30 axle. built that year, just 575 were painted that color and only 78 of those had the Vermilion Red bucket-seat interior. From Dearborn, it went to Hinchey Motors in Guymon, OK, as a well-loaded example sporting Magnum 500 wheels, a close-ratio 4-speed, rear window sport slats and rear spoiler, Shaker hood scoop, a tachometer and front bumper guards. The original owner of this vehicle traded it into a dealership in Texas in 1972. Its second owner street-drove the car for a couple of years before taking it to the track in Amarillo to drag race. At some point the engine was damaged and the vehicle parked until it was purchased by the second owner's cousin some years later. The car was then sent off to a professional for a complete drivetrain rebuild and complete disassembly, as well as detail of the entire vehicle.
