1970 CHEVROLET EL CAMINO SS PICKUP

Built in Kansas City, MO. Scheduled build date 4/15/1970. Shipped to Vaughn Chevrolet, Inc of Ottumwa, IA. Delivered to Richard G. Watson April 27, 1970. It was ordered with power steering but an error was made and it was shipped without. GM sent a new power steering setup and it was installed at the dealership. Salesman Wally VanNess is still employed by Vaughn. During the five years Richard owned it he added the chrome hooks on the inside of the bed to haul his Harley. He also added the

tonneau cover and side pipes which were later removed. Traded back to Vaughn in late 1976 and purchased by Jack White. Sold to Leo Vandello. During this time dealer replaced cam and lifters under warranty. About 1983 it was sold to an unnamed person in Cedar Rapids for his private collection. During this time it was given a basic new paint job. In the spring of 2007 Muscle Cars of Ohio purchased the majority of the collection which included the El Camino. Sherwin Fast purchased it from Ohio on 8/22/2007. All original numbers matching, original Build Sheet, original Warranty and Protect-O-Plate, original Window Sticker and original Driver Handbook. Interior is great down to the original dash pad. 68,060 original miles.
