18 month frame-off restoration, restored to the original factory standards by experts. This rare convertible GTO with air originated 1/28/1969 in Baltimore, MD and was sold in St. Louis, MO by Thoms Pontiac, Inc.
Details
Driven 1,300 miles since restoration. The Burgundy exterior with white top includes parchment cover when the top is down and parchment interior were the original colors at time of manufacture. The convertible has nice factory features like power front disc brakes and power antenna. Added headers, 2 ?' cross over exhaust, hood tack, rear spoiler, modern EUI distributor, modern alternator, modern starter, new speakers and an 8 track that really works. Only 4,385 convertibles with the 400 engines
and Turbo 400 automatic transmissions were built in 1969. Has factory air conditioning. The entire body and frame were sand blasted to insure that all paint and primer was removed and all pin holes due to rust were identified and repaired by welding or replacement of those sections. The body work is exceptional. The engine was replaced and rebuilt. Has the original heads with a 10.5:1 compression ratio, balanced to 0.5 gram plus has the appropriate Quadra Jet 4 barrel carburetor.
