The 1969 L78 was advertised as “The Factory’s Fastest.” This car retains the original VIN plate tag and Trim Tag, and the partial original Build Sheet is included. As the NCRS Shipping Data Report for this car indicates, the GM official production date was April 3, 1969. The original delivery dealer was Roller Chevrolet Company in
Monterey, CA. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced, including the window trim, wipers, mirrors, door handles, fender trim, grille, bumpers, lights and emblems. The car sits on correct Firestone Wide Oval F70-14 tires. The interior was finished in its original color of black. The trunk compartment was restored with the factory-style trunk mat and spare tire. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The car is powered by the original matching-numbers 396/375hp V8 engine with T0313JD assembly date, “272” block with casting date C119 and VIN stamp on block. This engine was completely rebuilt and runs great. The engine breathes through the correct-style exhaust system.
