In 1969, Chevrolet offered for the first and only time, the SS396 package as an option on the 300 Deluxe Sport Coupe and the 300 Deluxe Sedan. This car was ordered from Kelly Chevrolet in Butler, PA. The original owner ordered this '69 Chevelle as a Model 300 Post Coupe with the 396SS option. The car retains its original factory L-35 396cid/325hp engine, M21 Muncie 4-speed close-ratio transmission and 12-bolt 3.55 posi-traction rear end. The SS396 package includes 396cid V-8 engine, special
domed hood, black accented grille, power disc brakes, sport wheels, wide oval tires, wheel opening moldings, bright engine accents and special chassis features. Options include power steering, tinted glass and Rally wheels. The car has all original sheet metal and running gear. It has received a frame-off restoration with photo documentation and was finished in numbers L-35, M21 and 3.55 12-bolt posi-traction Many restoration receipts. Car is documented with the original Protect-O-Plate.
