Details

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Resto-Mod is powered by a 540/1,000hp V8 engine paired with a professionally built Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The recipient of a 4-year frame-off restoration, it rides on Art Morrison suspension with polished coilover springs and shocks with a 4-link rear clip. It is equipped with 4-wheel disc brakes, a Ford 9-inch rear, Richmond gears, Summer Brothers Racing 35-splines, Bowtie Mark IV block, Eagle Competition rotating assembly with 10.5:1 compression, Merlin cast-iron oval port heads, Manley 2.30 intake and 1.94 exhaust valves, COMP Cams and an Art Carr 8-inch torque converter. The engine compartment is finished in gloss black two-stage PPG paint and the weld joints have been finished and sanded. The engine is equipped with Hooker 2.25-inch headers with 3.5-inch collectors, a Flowmaster 3-inch exhaust system, K-motion valve springs with crane roller rockers and stud girdle, as well as a Weiand intake manifold, Chuck Gulledge carburetor, Ron Davis radiator and an MSD ignition system. It is finished in Daytona Yellow paint with black Z/28 stripes, with the bodywork done by Ken Miller of Street Works and Tracy Fassett of Millenium Ford using PPG paint. It was mini-tubbed and features custom polished wheels. The wheelbase was stretched 4 inches to the rear to accommodate the custom rear wheels and to keep the factory look of the fins behind the doors in the lower part of the quarter-panels. New pinch welds were installed to retain the factory appearance. It has a factory steel body, except the aftermarket 6-inch cowl-induction hood. The houndstooth interior features custom carpeting, light-up drink holders, a Hurst quarter-stick shifter, AutoMeter gauges, and a custom console and carpeting. It has been driven 200 miles since the build.
