Details
With a growing demand for cars bearing the Shelby namesake, Ford assumed an increased role in the design, development, production and marketing of Shelby Mustangs. The result was a more refined high-performance muscle car, which led to a one-year-only version of the Shelby Mustang, the GT500KR, with KR standing for 'King of the Road.' Production was limited to 1,053 cars. This King of the Road GT500 is well-documented and finished in Highland Green with a black interior. Power comes from a
date-correct 428ci Cobra Jet engine and a 4-speed transmission. Equipped with power steering, power brakes, AM radio and Shelby 10-spoke wheels, this Shelby GT500KR was restored in 2007 by nationally known Shelby restorer Jim Cowles. From the Mile-High Collection.
