Details

John Mitchell at Colony Chrysler Plymouth, MI originally purchased this vehicle on January 29, 1968. The original purchase including tax and fees was $3,319.49. Mitchell traded in a 1965 Chevy Corvair for $237.95 when he purchased the vehicle. I have the original 'Certicard' in Mitchell's name as well as the original Customer Care Warranty Book and the 1968 Belvedere Operation Instruction Booklet with Protect-O-Plate. The car was sold to Robert Charette in Canton, MI on July 1, 1978. I have a

hand written bill of sale for $25.00 and also the original application for title stating the selling price of $25.00 plus $1.00 sales tax and $10.00 title and transfer fee. I have several receipts for repairs, i.e. exhaust, battery, and miscellaneous parts from the 1970's. Phil Charette, Robert's son, was the actual owner of the vehicle but he was a teenager and had to put the car in his dad's name at the time. He painted the car black, installed mag wheels, and drove it for several years. The vehicle was then sold to Francis Spiker who had the car disassembled, blasted and primed to start a restoration. He gathered many original parts needed, as they were still available at the time, and had his brother-in-law start the restoration. After a few years and still not having the car complete, he took the car to Phil Charette (ironically the second owner), who now owns and operates 'New Reflections,' a body and restoration shop in Michigan, to have the car completed. The car was completed in 2006 and has been driven very little since. 440cid/375hp Super Commando engine rebuilt to factory specs, balanced and blueprinted. 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission rebuilt to factory specs. Restored using new and NOS parts, original interior except carpet replaced. Matching numbers, Fender Tag, partial Build Sheet, three owner car, dual exhaust, Sure grip 3.23 rear end, red line tires.
