This 1968 Mustang started its life out as an original candy apple red J Code 302 V8 fastback that underwent a ground-up rotisserie restoration featuring a full 'Eleanor' GT500 style body kit. Power now comes from a 427ci Ford stroker small-block engine backed by a rebuilt and upgraded C6 3-speed automatic transmission with heavy-duty clutch packs. Equipped with an Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake manifold, a Holley 750 double pumper carburetor, Hedman long tube headers and a camshaft with the signature muscle car lope. The 351w block is filled with forged rods and pistons sitting at 10:1 compression ratio, ported and rebuilt heads, ARP hardware throughout and a Canton 7-quart drag race oil pan. Additionally, it is equipped with a full 2.5-inch stainless steel exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. At the end of this built drivetrain is an upgraded Ford 9-inch rear end equipped with 3:55 gears and a traction lock differential. The upgraded suspension features rear Calvert Racing Caltracs traction bars, Shelby American sway bar, progressive lowering springs and KYB shock absorbers. It is also equipped with upgraded front disc brakes, ceramic pads, and every braking component replaced. At the end planted to the road is a set of 17-inch Eleanor-style wheels and Nitto NT05 tires. The body features original sheet metal including floor pans, quarter panels, doors, roof panel, rockers and fenders. The kit was grafted onto the body and refinished in Torch Red with the classic painted Wimbledon White racing stripes. The cockpit houses a new black vinyl interior, the deluxe interior option dash and components, Procar racing bucket seats with Shelby-style latching lap belts and silver-faced gauge plates. The dash is adorned with, the legend himself, Carroll Shelby's signature and is an officially licensed 'Eleanor Tribute Edition,' that was granted an Official License Certificate of Authenticity issued by Eleanor Licensing LLC for Eleanor's character looks and image as she appears in the 2000 re-make Gone in 60 Seconds motion picture, along with a nameplate and emblems.
