Details
This custom 1968 Ford Bronco named 'Rambo' is the result of a full nut-and-bolt frame-off restoration that took several years to complete. It is powered by a Ford 5.0-liter HO engine with EFI mated to a Ford automatic transmission that connects to a Dana 20 transfer case, turning the Empire driveline that sends power to the custom Currie 9-inch rear axle. The engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator; the engine oil is cooled by a grille-mounted cooler and the transmission is cooled by a fan-cooled Derale Cooler mounted underneath. The fuel system is supplied by a electric pump with a spin-on fuel filter backed by a 23-gallon fuel tank with a skid plate. The wheels are by method with BFGoodrich All-Terrain 285/70R17 tires. The Wild Horse twin-stick transfer case shifter allows you to switch from trail mode to highway mode instantly. The suspension was also designed to give the best on- and off-road experience by utilizing Wild Horse's Rock Crawler front coils and custom rear leaf springs. The bumps get smoothed by four Bilstein remote reservoir shocks per axle, for a total of eight. With the taller tires and upgraded suspensions, 'Rambo' is also equipped with Amp Research-powered running boards. The body has bed liner on the inside and underneath with a gloss red paint job. For more comfort, the Lecarra steering wheel is mated to the Wild Horse tilt column. The power steering on 'Rambo' is tuned to optimize on- and off-road driving. It also has a full roll bar with padding.
