Details

Built between 1964 and 1967, Sunbeam built two series of the Tigers. The first came with the 260ci V8 engine and the second series, a 289ci V8. Over its production run, Sunbeam built 7,083 Tigers and quickly, people came to find that the lightweight sports car was capable of handling more power. For two years, a Tiger held a class record with the American Hot Rod Association, passing the quarter mile in 12.95 seconds at 108 mph. This 1966 Sunbeam Tiger convertible is an example of an American-powered English sports car. Painted in a classic shade of Carnival Red, the car has been comprehensively restored and modified. To complement its striking red exterior, the Tiger has been treated to new tan upholstered bucket seats with a matching carpet set, wood veneer dashboard and full instrumentation. When you open the hood of this Tiger, the engine looks largely stock but is a fully built Ford 302ci V8 that produces over 250hp and nearly 300 ft/lbs of torque. This engine is then run through a 4-speed Toploader gearbox and sent to the rear wheels. The tan canvas convertible top has been replaced, and in place of the stock wheels are a set of beautiful Panasport 8-spoke wheels. To add to this car's provenance, it has been authenticated by the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association and Tiger Authentication Committee and has also been reviewed by Tiger aficionado Norman Miller, who has listed the car in the Tiger Registry. This classic British roadster comes with a factory hardtop, a full binder of restoration receipts, tool kit and an original owner's manual. **TITLE IN TRANSIT*
