Details

This 1966 Shelby GT350 fastback is one of only 1,373 and originally born a street car with a rare automatic transmission option. One of the greatest things about this Shelby is it can be used as a race car or registered street car and driven on rallies. This is an amazing race car with a great history. In 1966 the Shelby GT350 Mustang dominated on the race track, making this Shelby the perfect candidate to convert to a race car for SCCA B-production racing. In the late '90s the car was

converted. The unibody was acid dipped. Professionally restored at the time and fitted with a roll cage with suspension strengthened and reinforced. Powered by a recently rebuilt 292cid Ford married to Tex Racing Super T-10 4-speed transmission, Tex Racing driveshaft and 9' Ford Detroit Locker rear end. The car is legal in most vintage events. Comes with logbooks and recently completed Coronado Speed Festival in 2013 and Vintage Racing US National Championship at COTA Austin, TX. Other features include Hurst Shifter, C/R aluminum radiator unit with a heat exchanger for the oil cooler, MSD billet distributor and MSD 6AL ignition, a 3-quart Accusump system, Halon fire system, 15 gallon Fuel Safe cell, a Holley Blue fuel pump, a Fram HPG1 fuel filter, Cobra Automotive front suspension components, period-correct disc brakes with a Tilton master cylinder and adjustable bias. Finished in its traditional uniform Sapphire Blue with white LeMans stripes and GT350 stripes. The interior features GT350 R Model dash with period-correct gauges and the original Shelby rosewood steering wheel. Driver and passenger seats are from Sparco with 5-point harnesses. Racing Torq Thrust 15'x8' wheels and Goodyear Blue Streak racing tires with two sets available. Road ready, ready to race and this car has been managed and tuned by one of the top vintage race professionals in the country.
