1966 CHECKER MARATHON CUSTOM WAGON

In 1966, Checker produced a total of 5,755 vehicles, of those only 521 were Station Wagons. This Wagon has gone through a no-expense-spared frame-off customization/restoration. It's powered by a 406/425hp Vortec motor bored .030 over to create 475 ft/lbs of torque. Topping off this engine is a Demon 4-barrel carburetor on an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold all mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission. It has 4-wheel disc brakes based on Buick 11' rotors. The rear end is a Dana 44 with 3.73

gear ratio and a limited-slip arrangement. All of the suspension components and frame have been powder-coated. Other features include custom billet aluminum wheels, MagnaFlow dual exhaust and aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The seats, headliner, door panels, and all side panels have been meticulously covered in Italian Leather. The dashboard, door panels, and headliner also feature Chemetal copper panels integrated into the leather. The interior also features Auto Meter gauges as well as a Clarion stereo system with navigation, DVD and a rearview camera. Countless hours have been dedicated to the body of this Wagon. All of the panels have been fitted and re-fitted numerous times until everything was exceptional, straight, true, symmetrical and aligned. The body is protected by an epoxy primer with the underside finished in a gravel-guard coating. A urethane base coat and clear coat finishes the body with an outstanding mirror-like finish. All of the chrome brightwork has been refinished to a high-quality. All of the glass, weatherstrips, seals and wiring harness are new. It is truly a remarkable piece of art. Thousands of hours have been dedicated to the build and preservation of this unique one-of-a-kind Checker Wagon.
