1966 AUSTIN-HEALEY 3000 MARK III BJ8 CONVERTIBLE

Details

A total nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration done in 2010 to very high standards. The car was stripped to bare metal and refinished using PPG's top-of-the-line Global urethane paint. The entire interior was upgraded from the original vinyl to full leather in Biscuit with Wilton wool carpet. The top and boot were ordered from England in Biscuit Everflex, which is the original material used on Austin-Healeys when they were new. The dash is also a new walnut burl from England. The trunk was redone

in the original-style Armacord. The engine and 4-speed manual transmission were both rebuilt. The engine was upgraded with hard seats and valves in the head for use with unleaded gas, a retrofit rear crankshaft seal was machined-in to stop leaks and the whole assembly was balanced for smoothness. During restoration, the chrome was replaced or rechromed, all original fasteners were zinc-plated for originality, and many suspension parts and the top bows were powder-coated for durability. The original painted wheels have been replaced with five new chrome wheels with stainless spokes for looks and durability. A correct-style stainless-steel exhaust system was also installed. It's been driven 200 miles since the restoration.
