A genuine CSX 6000 Shelby Cobra built by Shelby Automobiles, Inc. Fully authenticated and documented with the MSO, dash and ID plate signed by Carroll Shelby and enrolled on the Shelby Registry. True to 1960 Cobras with improvements including a stronger steel frame, improved cooling and additional heat shielding making the cars safer and more drivable, but retaining all the authentic Cobra character. Lemans-winning Shelby color of Guardsman Blue with period correct Halibrand wheels and knock-off hubs on period correct Goodyear racing tires with the classic wood rimmed Cobra steering wheel. Extensive documentation and pictures for engine and body construction accompany the car. The cockpit has been completely insulated. Powered by a period correct mid-1960s vintage 427cid cast iron side-oiler Ford V8 engine with medium riser aluminum heads and a Shelby style sidewinder intake. The high performance 427 Ford engine was built by Southern Automotive. The balanced and blueprinted engine utilizes an Elgin high performance solid lifter cam, Edelbrock performer RPM aluminum heads, Edelbrock performer RMP aluminum intake manifold with CNC port matched to heads, dove aluminum roller rocker arms with specially designed aluminum end stands for added strength, Superior 11' high performance clutch and Tremec 600 5-speed transmission. The ignition has been upgraded with an MSD Pro Billet distributor, MSD digital 6AL ignition box with rev limiter and MSD Blaster Coil, the same ignition system utilized in NASCAR racing. This car has 495 miles since completion. It is spotless and has been meticulously maintained, never raced or exposed to inclement weather.
