1965 SHELBY COBRA CONTINUATION ROADSTER

Highly accurate Cobra 427 roadster continuation with Shelby American Chassis CSX6112. Not to be mistaken for a 'kit car,' this Cobra originates as a painted rolling chassis from Shelby American, Inc. with a Carroll Shelby signed MSO listing it as a 1965 Cobra. This specific example has been finished to appear outwardly as a highly original car, but with internal upgrades. The engine was built with a new old stock Ford Sideoiler 427 block, forged internals and new Carroll Shelby medium riser cylinder heads. Modern engine building techniques have bumped the output from the original 425hp to an engine dyno proven 495+hp while using a mild cam to maintain excellent street manners and excellent low end torque, yet still pulling strong to 6,000+rpm. The engine has been dressed with many correct parts including Aviaid oil pan, sandcast Cobra valve covers, medium riser intake and Lemans Carburetor and 'Turkey Pan' air box. The original Ford dual point distributor housing exchanges the dual point unit for a hidden Pertronix electronic unit to send strong, reliable spark though an original style cap and vintage Ford Racing wires. Power runs through an originally style blueprinted Top Loader with treated gears and rated for 800hp. The car also features original style swept forward shifter, horn button, Raydyot mirrors, tonneau cover and Lucas headlight to add to overall aesthetic authenticity. **TITLED AS A 2013 ASVE** **BRANDED AS SPECIALY CONSTRUCTED**
