This 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible includes PHS paperwork confirming it is a true GTO. It’s powered by a 389ci V8 engine with owner-added Tri-Power setup and Ram Air, backed by a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transmission. This car sold new at Adam’s Pontiac in Mount Kisco, NY, and was ordered with the GTO option, which included the 4-barrel-carbureted 389ci V8, dual exhaust, sports-type springs and shocks, special 7-blade fan and fan clutch, 14-inch red line tires, chrome air cleaner cover, chrome rocker arm covers and GTO emblems. It was additionally optioned with spinner hubcaps, backup lamps, console, tachometer, windshield washer and dual-speed wipers, custom sports steering wheel, seat belts with outboard retractor in front, 4-speed Synchromesh gearbox, Safe-T-Track rear axle, power brakes, power steering, and the handling and ride package. The new black, power-operated convertible top has the matching boot, and the straight exterior is finished with the correct Montero Red color with nice chrome and stainless trim, as well as Hurst wheels and red line tires. The car roars with the optional side-splitter dual exhaust. The black interior has been restored and features a full set of gauges, including 120 mph speedometer, fuel and vacuum console gauges, original wood-grain steering wheel, added Vintage Air, and an original Delco AM radio covertly converted to modern functions with connections for optional iPod and SiriusXM, with a hidden amplifier and speakers. Factory-correct Fisher Body seat belts and Pontiac-design floormats round out the interior. The show-ready, detailed engine compartment features a windshield washer bottle and modern battery disguised as period-correct. The trunk compartment is nicely restored and organized with the spare tire, jack tools and trunk mat. LoJack equipped. This GTO features a detailed undercarriage. Documentation that includes the Window Sticker and PHS paperwork is included.
