Details
This custom 1965 Ford Mustang convertible underwent a no-expense-spared, professional restoration into a GT350 Ken Miles tribute car. The high-quality build started with a rotisserie-restored convertible body. Power comes from a 347/520hp Roush Performance Anvil Comp V8 engine equipped with a Jim Inglese Weber 8-stack induction system and Daytona Velocity stacks. The engine is mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, delivering power to the rear wheels through a Mike Maier Ford 9-inch rear end. Upgraded suspension includes front and rear Hotchkis components, including Hotchkis upper and lower control arms, front and rear sway bars, front springs, rear leafs and Koni shocks, along with Chris Alston Total Control power rack & pinion steering. Stopping is performed with a power-assisted Wilwood master cylinder and 4-wheel Wilwood calipers clamping on drilled and slotted rotors. A Mike Maier chassis reinforcement frame was added to handle the increased horsepower and torque. Other equipment includes a front serpentine system, high-performance hydraulic clutch, MagnaFlow custom X-pipe dual exhaust, Dynamat throughout the car, a larger gas tank, Be Cool radiator with fan, aluminum heavy-duty driveshaft and an electronic e-brake. This custom Mustang rides on 17-inch E/T Minilite-style wheels wrapped in Nitto tires. The exterior is expertly finished in Wimbledon White with red racing stripes and a white convertible top. With an underside properly finished in red oxide paint, the enhanced exterior also features GT350-like styling, including a custom front grille, hood scoop, side scoops and lower side stripes. The red bucket-seat interior features a Vintage Air system, Classic Instruments AutoCross gauges, a Rally-Pac clock/tachometer unit, upgraded sound system, Simpson Racing latch & link seat belts and a Shelby-style 3-spoke wood steering wheel. This example won a Goodguys Mighty Mustang award. The sale includes restoration/build receipts.
