This is a fully restored, two owner '65 Corvette big block that was sold new at Loren Berg Chevrolet in Newberg, Oregon and has spent its entire life in the Newberg/Portland area. In the late '90's, the second owner initiated a high quality frame-off cosmetic and mechanical restoration that still presents in exceptional condition. This is a rare Corvette that was delivered from the factory with the L78 396cid/425hp big block motor, 1965 was the first year a big block was offered in a Corvette.
The original engine was exercised rigorously throughout the '60's and the block had to be replaced. However, during the restoration, great lengths were gone through to secure a correct date coded factory 425hp 396 replacement block, which was then professionally built to restore the car to factory correct. Options include the M20 4-speed transmission, posi-traction rear axle, side mount exhaust system, cast aluminum knock-off wheels, white wall tires, genuine leather upholstery, teakwood steering wheel, Soft Ray tinted glass and AM/FM radio. This car drives flawlessly and is lightening fast.
