Details
This two-owner Volkswagen has spent almost all its life in California. Originally shipped to Long Beach, CA, from Germany in 1974, it remained in California until six months ago, when the car was purchased by KAO Autostyling. The guys at KAO restore classic cars and build custom cars for customers all over the world. This car was brought in and gone through from top to bottom. Because of the great condition of the car, the restoration was pretty minor. The sides of the car had a few minor nicks
and dings, so the sides were massaged straight and two-toned in 1964 Porsche Rubin Red to match the car's dark red interior. The door panels are new. The wheels are original styled steel with Wolfsburg hubcaps and a nice set of wide whitewalls really complete the vintage look. The original 4-cylinder engine was removed and tuned by German-trained VW tech Carl Fowler, then detailed and reinstalled. Other features include a vintage bamboo interior package tray and vintage wood-slat roof rack. A great-running and driving show-quality classic VW.
