Austin-Healey's production of sports cars started in 1953 with the introduction of the successful 100-4 model. In 1956, the 6-cylinder 100-6 was produced which was developed into the vastly improved and famous '3000'. This model featured a larger engine for greater torque and horsepower, front disc brakes and was offered in 2 and 4 seat roadster (side curtain) body styles. 1963 models benefited from even more improvements and upgrades with the introduction of the BJ-7 2+2 sports convertible.

This model, designated as a 3000 MK II A, now provided roll-up windows to replace the old roadster's side screens and a proper easy stowing, snug-fitting softtop. This 1963 BJ-7 sports convertible offered here has just completed a total, nut and bolt, body-off the chassis, rotisserie restoration by premier marque specialist Kurt Tanner Restorations. Finished in the exciting and attractive factory color scheme of Colorado Red with black trim and top, this lovely Big Healey features a 4-speed overdrive gearbox, chrome/stainless wire wheels, adjustable steering wheel and a heater. All work and detailing has been carried out to Austin-Healey Club Gold Concours standards. It has completed test miles only since its restoration and is now ready for enjoyment.
