Details
This Healey was the subject of a total nut and bolt concours restoration including the rare factory hardtop a few years ago. When it was finished, it was judged in the National Austin Healey Club Concours where it scored the top honors, Gold Award. This was a nice rust-free car from Colorado and I bought it from a guy in dry eastern Washington state recently. The car had been used sparingly for 2 or 3 years and then stored in a nice dry garage until recently. Some recent tune up work has been
done to get it back in top running condition. The rare hardtop was restored by Roger Moment of Colorado and he is currently the chairman of the Austin Healey Club National Concours and also the co-author with Gary Anderson of the book, the Austin Healey Restoration Guide. The paint colors of Healey Blue over Olde English White is a correct color combination and the Navy Blue leather and vinyl interior is also correct. The MK II tri-carbs are the last of the sportier roadster body style before BMC switched production over to a new roll up window MK II in 1963/4. When the car was restored it included a total mechanical restoration, new wiring, new rubber, new correct Triplex brand windshield new or re-plated chrome. This Healey also has a rare aluminum hood. The chrome wire wheels were added later to make for a smoother drive. The hardtop is very easy to remove as it only weighs about 30lbs. This Healey is a dream to drive, everything works and feels so good. It's well sorted out and ready to enjoy.
