1961 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE

This is an undocumented 283/315hp Fuelie 4-speed with both tops, Wonder Bar radio and heater. The body is finished in Tuxedo Black with silver coves and black interior with white headliner. It currently has been driven less than 100 miles since receiving a ground-up, body-off restoration. The car was completely dismantled and given a frame-off restoration over a three year period. Virtually every area of the car was addressed and repaired or replaced as required. The chrome was redone to show

quality in California. A new full wiring harness, all new rubber, new convertible top, new windshield, as well as new upholstery door panels and headliner from Al Knoch Interiors. Virtually no body work to do, but did do all of the interior and exterior paint work on the car, including frame and engine compartment bringing it all back to factory specifications. While the car was under restoration, the previous owner had the engine removed and completely rebuilt to conform with the 315hp fuel injection specifications. They completed the full rebuild, using a Comp cam and solid lifters to conform to factory requirements. The previous owner removed the fuel injection unit during the restoration and sent it out to have it completely rebuilt. While being rebuilt, the plenum interior walls were coated with a Teflon type product which allows the unit to remain considerably cooler during normal operation, increase the volume of air going through it and improve the overall reliability of the entire unit. Less than 1,500 1961 Corvettes were ordered with the 315hp fuel injection option and this rare car has been finished to perfection. A stunning example.
