This is a fully documented European-delivery Type 1 Bug with a 1500cc engine and manual transmission. Every piece of paperwork from day one way back in 1959 - the day the original owner put a deposit down on the car - up until he sold it in 1999, is included. The documentation and receipts are amazing; even a Volkswagen Museum Birth Certificate of Authenticity is included. Purchased new in Augsburg, Germany, at Edgar Meyer VW, the first owner took delivery in Europe. Currently on its third

owner, the car has 112,000 original miles. In 1981, at 95,000 miles, a new crate 1500cc engine was installed (the correct 36hp engine for this car is included with the sale). Equipped with a VW roof rack and a fuel gauge installed in the early 1960s, the car has receipts to back it all up. The documentation on this Type I includes stacks of paperwork, receipts, original book, maintenance records and other import paperwork. It had one exterior-only high-quality refinish in 2001. The interior paint is original and outstanding. Featuring an uncut dash, original working Blaupunkt radio, original mohair headliner and 1960-only grooved visors and great original dash trim. It has a no-rust excellent original pan with no patches or repairs. The dealer installed a 6-volt heater blower motor around 1966. All the lights work and a restored set of vintage 6-volt fog lights were installed. The car has all original sheet metal, original spare tire and tools, front and rear aprons, original Continental spare tire, jack and tools, and original trunk cardboard as well. It has been slightly lowered and has drop spindles, but the original spindles go with car, as do the original wheels and hubcaps, steering wheel, correct 36hp engine, all books, records, history and documentation. It recently got new front tires. This car has been a show car for a few years.
