1960 VOLKSWAGEN 23-WINDOW BUS

Ground-up, rotisserie-restored Volkswagen Samba bus with all the bells and whistles Volkswagen offered in 1960. This bus features seating for nine passengers, passenger side door entry, eight skylights and an original German cloth sliding ragtop. This bus also has the rarest items of all, which are the two rear corner windows that make this a 23-window design. This bus was restored by KAO Autostyling and nothing was overlooked on the restoration. Many of the parts were sourced from Germany for

the highest-quality build possible. The bus was stripped down to a skeleton and put on a rotisserie, where it was worked for countless hours to get the body straight and ready for paint. The bus was finished in L325 Mouse Grey over L87 Pearl White. This is a deluxe bus from the factory that comes with the polished aluminum side moldings and the very rare dash clock, which was shipped in from the Netherlands for this particular bus and has been completely refurbished to concours condition. The interior has been done in original Basalt Gray and Silver Beige plaid two-tone. Original German rear seat, polished luggage guard and wraparound rear window jail bars. This bus has front pop-out safari windows, six pop-out side windows and the very rare safari pop-out rear window. Every piece of glass and rubber trim in the bus is new and German-made; all lights and lenses are new or restored to new condition. The drivetrain is also restored to show quality with a fresh-built 1500cc motor and a professionally built Benco transmission. This bus has been upgraded to 12-volt and everything operates wonderfully. Every part of the undercarriage has been restored to spec and is detailed to show condition, including having the belly pans undercoated in factory color as done when new from the factory.
