1958 VOLKSWAGEN 23-WINDOW MICROBUS

One of only 19,499 Microbus Deluxes ever made. This 23-window is exceptional in every way and underwent a complete rotisserie restoration over the course of five years, from 2014 to 2019. There was minimal rust on the base car, and it spent its life away from the harsh elements and was stripped down to its shell, with every nut and bolt carefully attended to. It was finished in its original color scheme of Sealing Wax Red under Chestnut Brown. The Light Brown interior was done by the best of the best. The underside of the bus from front to back is just as impressive as the top side. Correct 15-inch wheels with the proper trim rings and new bias-ply tires cast from period-correct molds. No compromises were made in this 'open checkbook' restoration.The engine is the original 36hp version of the air-cooled flat 4-cylinder engine and is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The carburetor, fuel pump and distributor were restored as well. The bus has been driven less than 100 test miles since it's completion. The beautiful 1958 Samba is ideal for any scenic drive. It's equipped with the original factory front-end Safari Sigla windows, six pop-out side windows, a full-length totally rebuilt canvas sunroof, eight skylight windows and three full comfortable bench seats with mohair headliner.
