Finished in Raven Black, this 1957 Ford Thunderbird E-code convertible was produced at the Dearborn, MI, plant in February 1957 and delivered to California. This is one of 1,499 E-code 1957 Thunderbirds powered by a 312/270hp V8 engine with dual Holley 4-barrel carburetors, an aluminum intake manifold and an HP camshaft coupled to a 3-speed, floor-shifted manual transmission with overdrive. It is equipped with power steering, power brakes and power windows, as well as a signal-seeking AM radio, an engine dress-up kit, electric wipers and a heater plus defroster. Minter's Thunderbirds completed this restoration by adding a new black Haartz soft-top complete with all new hardware, replacing the interior and dye-matching the dash before color-sanding and buffing the exterior paint to a concours shine. Minter's craftsmen also subtly repositioned the driver's seat for more legroom, added a smaller-diameter steering wheel with a factory appearance, upgraded the dual exhaust to stainless steel and replaced the factory ignition with an electronic ignition. A new clutch assembly was recently installed.
