Details
This one-off custom 1957 Chevrolet Suburban underwent a more than 2-year and over 3,000-hour build by Roadster Shop. The sheet metal is all custom, with a pie-cut top chop and section job done to the hood. It is powered by a 427ci LS7 engine topped with a twin-screw Kenne Bell supercharger and puts out 820hp on pump gas. The engine is backed by a Bowler 4L85E transmission equipped with a Lokar shifter. It rides on a specially designed chassis built by the Roadster Shop that has a Detroit Speed
Pro-Touring IFS utilizing C6 Corvette spindles, AFCO Racing springs and shocks, and Wilwood 14-inch, 6-piston, ABS electrically assisted disc brakes in front. Out back, it has a Heidts IRS setup with a Truetrac posi-traction gear hung off QA1 shocks and 12-inch Wilwood disc brakes. A custom grille and surround were fabricated for the SUV, and the stock bumpers were reshaped, narrowed and tucked in tight to the body. The biggest body mod is the addition of the rear doors. The existing front doors were first extended 6 inches to better fit the lengthened appearance of the truck before a new pair of rear doors were cut and added to the cab, opening in a suicide fashion. Shaved and completely devoid of the stock trim, this Suburban is painted in a custom mix of turquoise and matte silver. This SUV rides on Intro Aurora wheels that measure 20x10 up front and 20x12 out back wrapped in BFGoodrich G-Force T/A tires. Inside, the matte silver and turquoise color scheme was continued across the Classic-Instruments-equipped dash. Flanking the Krist Kustoms sport bucket seats resides a custom center console that houses the Lokar shifter, Kenwood audio head unit, power window controls and cup holders. The ample interior space is finished in gray and charcoal leather with perforated nylon. Rolls-Royce gray carpeting covers the floor, and the vehicle is equipped with creature comforts, including a Vintage Air system and headrest-mounted DVD screens. This Suburban has appeared on magazine covers. **TITLE IN TRANSIT**
