Professional restoration in 2006. Truck was originally purchased in Pomona, CA, and brought back to Arizona where several well-known craftsmen were involved in the project. Rick Dore Kustoms had the truck soda blasted and prepped the body for paint while Jason Rushforth completed the paint scheme and graphics design. One of the finest examples of a rust-free, super straight body needed little work before it was shot Diamond Graphite and Black by K-Daddy Kustomz in Bakersfield, CA. Actual silver
leaf was used for the graphic in a subtle engine turn pattern. The entire interior of the cab was also shot with Lizard Skin ceramic coating and completely covered in Dynamat for heat and sound protection before installing the interior. Kip Kuiper did not overlook any detail in the interior down to the stitching in the seat to mimic the dash design to the Cadillac trunk 'V' inlay. The one-piece leather headliner compliments the one-piece windows that eliminate the wing window, creating a more modern look. Interior features also include square weave wool carpet, chrome Ididit column with Billet Specialties steering wheel and air conditioning by Vintage Air. There is a full audio system with an Alpine head unit and a custom speaker enclosure behind the seat housing Rockford power and four 8' woofers. The pieces underneath the body are equally impressive. The stock frame received several updates including a Fatman Fabrication's Mustang II front end with Heidt's polished stainless steel tubular A-arms and a TCI 4-link rear with a Ford 9' housing. The GM ZZ4 350 385/385 with Fast Burn heads is completely wrapped in Billet Specialties accessories. Power is handled by a Phoenix Transmissions' 700R4 that was custom made for this truck. Long distances are no problem combining this transmission, a 3.50:1 gear and the custom 20-gallon aluminum fuel tank under the bed. The exhaust notes are deep coming from the custom exhaust that is completely Jet Hot coated all the way from the Sanderson headers to the Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers to the stainless steel tips poking through a custom opening in the fender step. The wheels are also Billet Specialties ('Strip'), 18' in the front and 20' in the rear. They are covered in BFG G-Force T/A KDW tires, 245/40/18 upfront and 275/35/20 outback. This truck has only been shown a few times but has taken home a first place award at nearly all of them including a Classic Truck Top Ten Award at the Goodguys show in Del Mar and the 'Trick Truck' Award at the Scottsdale, AZ Goodguys. This truck has had feature articles in both 'Classic Trucks' magazine and 'Street Trucks' magazine (October 2006). It has also appeared in 'Custom Classic Trucks' magazine, 'Truckin'' magazine and 'Goodguys Gazette'.
