Details
Jaguar's William Lyons had an innate, subjective sense of style and design which distinguished Jaguars from their earliest days. But nothing anticipated the reception for the postwar XK 120 and its successor the XK 140. Their engine, a 3.4 liter dual overhead camshaft 6 was nothing less than state-of-the-art, a design that challenged cars like Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari costing two, three or four times as much. In the 210hp XK 140 MC like this, with the LeMans-winning C-type
cylinder head, Jaguar combined William Lyons' svelte XK body style with a competition proven drivetrain, one of the most desirable of all postwar sports cars. Freshly restored in red with tan leather interior, this is an accurate and correctly restored example in the most desirable and lightest Roadster body style with complete weather equipment, five chrome wire wheels, wide white wall tires, Lucas fog lamps and tool kit with lead knockoff hammer. The engine, cylinder head and ID plate numbers all match. A fabulous automobile in every respect.
