Details
Named the Goodguys Truck of the Year in 2010. This '56 Ford F-100, big window, pickup represents one of the finest designed and flawlessly built fat fendered trucks in recent years. It is the end product of three years and 4,000 man hours that culminates in this piece of automotive art. It features extensive body modifications and many hand fabricated aluminum parts. Named 'Obsession' it begins with a Roadster Shop chassis including Heidts chrome plated front and rear independent suspension,
Wilwood disc brakes and 22' Billet Specialties wheels. Power comes from a 560hp Merlin 509 with a Hilborn electronic fuel injection. A Tremec 5-speed and Ford 9' posi-traction complete the drive train. The body is where this truck gets interesting. It features a chopped top, pancake hood and roof, doors shortened and rocker panels added, windshield lowered into the cowl, front fender wheel openings moved 4' forward, and custom fabricated aluminum pickup box, running boards, radiator support and inner fenders. The Zebra wood floor hinges up to access mechanical and electrical components. The flawless finish body work, paint and assembly work was performed by The Roadster Shop. The interior includes a custom dash and console with luxurious black and tan leather seats and trim. Winner of the F-100 Supernationals truck of the year award in 2010, this amazing truck was featured in Custom Classic Truck magazine in April 2011 and at the SEMA Meguiar's booth in 2011.
