This vehicle underwent a complete rotisserie, body-off, nut-and-bolt restoration completed in 2014. This modified Nomad is powered by a GM 572/720hp long block factory crate engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission and has been driven 571 miles since rebuild. This monster engine breathes through a 1150cfm dominator-style carburetor and rectangular-port aluminum heads with 2.25/1.88 valves. A solid roller lifter camshaft provides lift while it exhales through Billy Boat long-tube headers.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 4-speed GM Supermatic 4L85E automatic transmission with a 2,300-rpm stall torque converter and an electronic transmission controller that lets you program shift points. A GM Performance heavy-duty ignition system provides spark, while the engine compartment is finished off by a GM Performance serpentine belt accessory drive system, a Be Cool aluminum radiator and a flat firewall. Up front, the hood features billet hinges, while the rear lift gate has gas struts. The low and mean stance of this '55 Nomad is provided by a 4-link rear suspension and RideTech coilovers front and rear, and has Foose 255/30x20-inch front and 295/25x22-inch rear Pirelli P-Zero tires. Four-wheel power disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors provide stopping power, while a Unisteer rack & pinion keeps steering tight. American Autowire wiring powers the electric system. The custom leather interior features silver piping, a front bench seat, tilt steering, Classic Instruments gauges and a Vintage Air system for air conditioning, heat and defroster.
