Details
Build began in April 2012, starting with an L.A. and Southern California-raised rust-free car that was retired to a garage in 1973. This vehicle presents all-original sheet metal, including all floors, with a replacement recessed firewall for modern engine and transmission fusion. Body was sanded to bare metal and finished professionally, with filler used only for perfection leveling. All interior surfaces were treated with a rust inhibitor and Dynamat Extreme was applied to all floors, doors
and interior roof. The Pacific Sunset Fusion Orange color contains five extra-fine metallic colors and two colors of pearl, making this blend absolutely stunning on a laser-straight body. Some molding was removed for a semi-smooth modern look, but maintaining the classic look of a very rare Nomad. Chassis is a Roadster Shop Pro Ride Phase 3, so it will set low but handle and ride as if it was running at normal height. Heidts Super Ride 3 front and rear suspension for performance handling and a smooth ride, with QA1 three-stage coilovers. Chassis was powder-coated Gunmetal Grey along with all suspension components for easy clean-up after driving. Power plant with a 2002 Corvette pro-built all-aluminum 5.7-liter that after a recent dyno tune now produces with 386hp at wheels and 435hp at flywheel. Pro Camp induction system, MSD Blaster coil packs and G-force nozzles. Transmission is a 4L60E that was pro-built to support the additional horsepower and torque produced by the power plant. 3' aluminum driveline by Inland Empire and Hooker high-flow and ported cast headers, MagnaFlow Pro Flow mufflers and 2-3/4-inch mandrel drawn tubing coated with special high-temp ceramic coating. A Moser Super Track differential with Strange 32 spline axles handles the massive torque requirements needed. U.S. Mag Bandit 18x8 front wheels with Nitto Extreme 225x40ZR18 tires and 20x10 rear wheels with Nitto Extreme 265x35ZR20 tires. Wilwood 14' slotted and drilled rotors with 6-piston calipers up front and Wilwood 13' slotted and drilled rotors with 4-piston calipers and internal e-brake drums. Custom interior using Glide Engineering front and rear frame. Custom-wrapped in a pleather vinyl. Carpets are German wool carpets with special polished stainless strips to protect the cargo area, so packages can be loaded without soiling or damaging the carpet. Dakota Digital VHX full gauge and engine management system with digital clock, premium Alpine entertainment system, iPod, iPhone, Bluetooth with Patriot interface, built-in AM/FM with disc player. Four tweeters, two mid-range and two subwoofers, and 1,000 watts of custom auto sound amplifiers with electric antenna. Vintage Air system supplies air conditioning, heat and defrost with simple-to-operate electronic interface in place of stock control. Custom console with Lokar shifter and shift indicator.
