Details
Exceptional example of a beautifully restored MG TD/2. This car was commissioned at the factory on February 22, 1953 and was well maintained and scarcely driven from new. Previous ownership embarked on a major frame-off restoration with painstaking attention to accuracy, detail and originality. The wood underneath the car is in excellent condition. The restoration was completed in the early 2000s. The car continues to present beautifully with only a handful of very minor blemishes. The car is
finished in a deep gloss Silver Blue over Butterscotch leather hides with tan canvas top and matching side curtains. The car also has its original tonneau cover. Powered by its original and matching-numbers XPAG straight 4-cylinder engine with dual SU carburetion, its produces 57hp at 5,200 rpm. The car also has its original factory 4-speed manual transmission, dual outside mirrors, correct Jaeger gauges and Lucas amp meter, wind wings, electric wipers, new stainless steel exhaust system and a rear-mounted luggage rack. All of these items are in very good condition and function well. All body and engine tags are clearly present and unaltered. Nothing else on this car has been altered from original, right down to the correct generator positive ground charging system, MG intake and exhaust manifolds, canister oil filter, horn and air cleaner assembly. Owned and restored by a true MG TD enthusiast, the car is exceptionally honest and well sorted. Among other attributes, the car has brand new tires, rebuilt rack & pinion steering, a professionally fit top and tonneau cover, fold down rear luggage rack, sun visors, wind deflectors and factory heater. The doors close properly and quietly with ease. The tachometer, speedometer, oil pressure and ammeter are all working perfectly. This matching-numbers TD/2 is ready for reliable touring or showing with only a little attention. It's color combination and quality of restoration make it an attractive addition to any British sports car collection.
