1952 ALLARD J2X RACECAR

Details

The Allard Motor Car Company started producing cars right after WWII with their greatest success coming in the early 1950s. The Model J2X was made from 1951-1954 with Sydney Allard building just 83 units including 5 full bodied cars that raced at Le Mans. The J2X was an improvement over the J2 by lengthening the frame, thus allowing the engine to be moved forward 5' giving more cockpit leg room and making the car handle better. This particular car #J2X-3076 was delivered new to Shawnee Motor Co,

in Kansas on September 30, 1952. The car was red with red interior but restored with tan interior and was supplied with a differential ratio of 3.78. The powerplant in this car is a 365cid Cadillac V8. Sitting on top is an ultra rare Horne four carburetor intake manifold. With four twin choke Stromberg carburetor, the torque coming out of this engine is mind blowing. Acceleration is amazing and with a top speed over 125 mph, its no wonder these car were so successful.
