This Futuramic 88 Club Coupe was built by Gas Monkey Garage on the hit show 'Fast N' Loud' with a 350ci V8 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission. By 1950, the Oldsmobile line featured Harley Earl's aircraft-inspired 'Futuramic' styling. This Oldsmobile 88 Club Coupe has the auspicious history to be only the second car built on Discovery Channel's famous 'Fast N' Loud' TV show. In characteristic fashion, the Gas Monkey Garage crew took something old and tired and gave it a spark of life. In
keeping with Gas Monkey style, it has been finished as a 'rat rod' - a finish they initially made cool, including clear-coating the exterior, giving it the desired unique look. From its artistic patina to its two-tone interior, this Olds exudes old-school hot-rodding. Its chrome wheels and trim provide a perfect contrast to the clear-coated patina exterior. The interior colors of white and blue balance the look with white vinyl upholstery and the highly detailed blue instrument cluster, color-matched with the remaining blue exterior color. The central instrument cluster contains all gauges, allowing for easy review by the driver. The 350 V8 has ample power to accelerate this hot rod with a bulletproof 700R4 transmission. With its overdrive gear, highway speeds can be achieved with ease.
