Details

This custom 1949 GMC custom pickup took 9 years to complete. The boxed frame received a bolt-on 1969 Camaro IFS front clip, while the rear section of the frame was C-notched to accommodate a 1969 Camaro rear end and rear suspension. Power is derived from a 350ci V8 crate engine adorned with a polished Edelbrock intake and carburetor, Billet Specialties valve covers, and the radiator from a 1969 Camaro. A 4-speed automatic transmission backs the engine. This custom pickup has extensive body

modifications, including a 3.5-inch chop to the top and 4 inches sectioned from the cabin. The truck bed came from a 1980s Ford, which was narrowed 14 inches and shorted 18 inches. The original GMC fenders were grafted on and mated to the hand-built rear bumper and running boards containing exhaust cutouts. The cowl panel was replaced with a motorized peek-a-boo hood that was pancaked 4 inches. Upfront, two grilles merged to create a one-off stair-stepped effect. The headlights feature hand-built eyelid shades, complementing the hand-built front bumper and front fenders, which were widened an inch and taper to the rear. Additionally, the truck sports a motorized tonneau trunk lid. The exterior is finished in PPG Laser Red urethane tri-coat. The interior consists of 1978 Chrysler LeBaron seats covered in tan European leather and the underside of the tonneau cover, which is also embossed with the GMC logo. Mercedes tan wool carpets are used in the cabin and the inside of the bed. The truck has a power back window, power front windows and power locks. The interior also features hand-built upper and lower consoles, a custom-built 'V' butted windshield, Pontiac gauges and a Monto Carlo tilt steering column.
