One-Off Example. 1949 Paris Salon Show Car 1952 International Motor Sports Show, Grand Central Palace in New York City. This flamboyant Saoutchik was a sensation when introduced at the Paris Salon Show 1949. Tapered teardrop design accented by chrome sweep spears and two tone paint that took over a year to build adding to the detail. The car was completely accented with splendid ornamentation such as interior fixtures plated in 14-karat gold and the doors are opened by a push button. Fully optioned with a Motorola radio, clock and magnificent OS gauges. First known owner was Jack Pry of Washington, D.C. who purchased the car for $20,000, which was a extraordinary amount of money in the late 1940's, who showed the car at the 1952 International Motor Sports Show in New York, along side the Phantom Corsair. This car was then sold to Mrs. Wladzia Podbielniak of Chicago, IL. Purchased by the renowned Bill Harrah in the 1950's who was known for his incredible taste for magnificent rare automobiles. The car was a feature display at the world famous Harrah Collection in Reno, NV. Bill Harrah had the car restored in the early 1980's. Later sold to Tom Barrett in 1989 who then sold the car to J.B. Nethercutt where the car had been on display in the famous Sylmar museum until sold to the current owner in 2010. The car was shipped straight to Mike Fennel Restoration in Saugus, CA where it underwent a two-year complete detailed restoration. This magnificent Saoutchik bodied Delahaye is a stunning example of the decadence of the famed French coach built cars.
