Details
This striking 1948 Ford coupe was professionally built by Lloyds of Austin using some of the best components available. The steel body has been fitted with Fairlane fiberglass fenders and sits on a powdercoated frame. Exterior modifications include 1941 Studebaker taillights, louvered fender aprons and a one-piece windshield. The 350cid ZZ4 engine was custom built by JJ Machine and Engine Works of Ramona, California and features aluminum heads, roller cam, MSD ignition, Wieland Stealth manifold,
Flow-Tech carburetor, HPC block hugger headers, Flowmaster exhaust and Griffin aluminum radiator. The transmission is a Chevy Turbo 400 with a Corvette 2800 stall converter and the rear end is a Curry 9' Ford. The front suspension is TCI independent with 11' disc brakes and the rear uses TCI parallel leaf springs and 11' drums. This rod rolls on centerline wheels and turns with Flaming River rack & pinion steering. GM tilt column and a Budnick steering wheel. The interior features Dakota Digital instruments and cruise control, Air-Tique air conditioning, Painless wiring and battery cut-off, Sony stereo, Polk speakers, Posi-Glide power windows, remote locks and trunk release. Glide Engineering front seat with charcoal gray vinyl upholstery and charcoal gray wool carpet. This magnificent custom has won several awards and at the same time is very usable and great to drive. The best of both worlds.
