The re-creation/restoration of this car required some fanatical purists, race historians and restoration specialists Sonny Messner, Jr. Thompson and son Tommy Thompson to re-create the details on this vintage race car. How much detail? GMC supercharger and dual port Hilborn riding on top, the greasy paw prints on the tranny cover, those authentic Tijuana seat covers, M&H Racemaster slicks on those period perfect Halibrands, the Von Dutch flames and the period correct stickers from Lions, Orange
County Airport, Santa Ana, Joe Hunt Magnetos, Champion Spark Plugs, Moon Eyes and Hildebrandt. Everything in and on the 'Old Black Studebaker' is original or period correct except for the automatic transmission. A period correct Cad-Lasalle transmission comes with the car to make it authentic like it ran in 1958. Original pictures of the O.B.S., Jr. Thompson and the 1958 'First Little Eliminator' trophy sponsored by Coca Cola goes with the car. The O.B.S. was featured at the 2010 SEMA show, 2010 US Nationals and the 19th annual California Hot Rod Reunion.
