Description

Summary

Designed and built by Hot Rod Hall of Famer Sam Foose and interior design by Hot Rod Hall of Famer Chip Foose. Very high quality, cutting edge build and design.

Details

This car was built by Hotrod Hall of Fame builder and designer, Sam Foose. Spectacular all metal 1940 Ford deluxe coupe. It is very tastefully modified with a chopped top, laid back windshield, single piece 1948 Ford rear window, suicide 1939 tudor sedan doors, forward slanted 'B' pillars, peaked hood and front fenders, frenched 1939 Ford headlights, narrowed running boards, nosed and decked, and trademark Sam Foose built and chromed side moldings. The paint is an ultra black two stage enamel.

All chrome trim and window glass is in excellent condition. Mustang II independent front suspension, 9' Ford rear end on parallel leaf springs, 16 gallon stainless steel fuel tank, GM automatic overdrive 700R4 transmission with B&M shifter, power front disc and rear drum brakes, original 1940 Ford frame modified to accommodate modern safety and comfort features, Jet Hot coated exhaust system with headers and mellow glass pack mufflers. A 'roller' under the grill was installed for protection when negotiating steep driveways. The wheels are chrome plated and painted Red Steel with Diamond Back Classic wide white wall tires. The engine is a 350/345hp small block Chevrolet with aluminum ZZ-4 heads, Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold with three 2 barrel Rochester carburetors and progressive linkage, chrome and polished aluminum engine accessories include brackets, alternator, air conditioning compressor, and intake manifold. Serpentine belt driven accessories and MSD ignition system. The interior design was executed by Chip Foose and stitched by Gabe Lopez of Gabe's Custom Interiors, done in black and gray leather and highlighted with red piping, the carpets are done in black Mercedes Benz square weave material. The Stewart Warner instruments are all tilted toward the driver for easy viewing, the car is equipped with cruise control, Vintage Air air conditioning and heater, interior courtesy lights, power windows, remote operated doors, electric windshield wipers and more.
