Details

Beginning life as an original all-steel 1935 Auburn 851 Cabriolet, this car received a full frame off rotisserie restoration and features less than 100 miles since completion. Power comes from a 500ci Cadillac V8 engine professionally rebuilt by L&R Engines of Santa Fe Springs, CA. The engine is topped with an Edelbrock 750 cfm carburetor and features a balanced and blue printed rotating assembly. Additional engine upgrades include Harland Sharp Roller Rockers, COMP 260H camshaft, double roller timing chain, high-volume oil pump, new water pump, four-core radiator and MSD ignition system. The engine breathes through a true dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers and powder-coated exhaust manifolds. The engine produces a dyno-tested 402hp and 532 ft/lbs of torque. Power is routed through a GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission with long-tail-shaft Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.55 gears, Truetrac differential and 31-spline axles. For stopping power, the Cabriolet uses a set of Wilwood disc brakes mounted on the original Auburn spindles with the master cylinder and brake lines custom installed. A Painless Wiring harness keeps everything connected, and the Auburn dash features Dakota Digital gauges and NOS parts. Finished in red over a caramel-colored interior, the Auburn rides on custom-built wheels that feature the original hubcaps. The custom removeable hardtop was done in the original-style Haartz cloth. This car started life as an all-original 1935 Auburn and is titled as such, not a special construction or fiberglass kit car.
