Details
Built in 1933, this Sommerset Boatworks Raceboat is the last boat remaining from this builder. Thousands of hours of fine craftsmanship have gone into the building of this Honduran and Philippine mahogany racer. This Class D race boat had an illustrious racing history in the 1930s. Its sister ship was wrecked in a race, making this boat very rare. The boat has been completely restored and is still very fast. It has a new transom and decks. The bottom is sound and the boat is in overall excellent condition. Powered with a Ford Flathead 8, fresh from a complete rebuild. The boat was clocked at 71 knots on the St. Charles River during its racing heyday. A fine example of speed, mahogany and fine craftsmanship. The package includes a trailer, is ready to be used and enjoyed. **SOLD AS A PAIR WITH LOT 709.1**
