Details
By 1911, the Excelsior company had sorted out its own racers, with their 'pocket valve' v-twin engine Jake de Rosier, the star rider of the day, had recently fallen out with his mentors at Indian and became unbeatable with the new Excelsior, setting a new record for the mile at 94mph in September, at Riverview Motordrome in Chicago. De Rosier was a real showman, and wore black tights and running shoes as his racing attire. This new-build old-look truck is dedicated to Jack de Rosier has and
less than 300 miles on the build. Purposefully patinaed, it is a throwback to the early days of Motordrome racing. This custom-built Diamond T has been enhanced with the addition of a rare 1927 Auburn sedan steel body, creating the earliest version of the popular extended cab. During the build the motor was upgraded to a more modern GM 6-cylinder engine with a 4-speed manual transmission, new wiring, tires and hydraulic brakes. It's also equipped with a 12-volt system, electric wipers, lighting and even an 'ah-oo-ga' horn. The leather interior features cowhide side panels. It also comes with period-correct display replica flat-track racer.
