Details
This custom 1932 Ford Roadster hot rod is a replica of the Doane Spencer hot rod displayed at the Petersen Automotive Museum. It features the 1932 Brookville Roadster body with original firewall, as well as the 1932 Ford frame and crossmember with bored-out Mercury Flathead engine with SCAT crankshaft, rods and pistons. It is equipped with a 12-volt conversion, batwing gauges, Lincoln front brakes and a laid-back Duvall windshield. The exterior features spring sets behind the axle and a pinched frame, and the back frame was stepped up 7 inches. The mostly period-correct parts include a fuel pump, gas pedals, intake carburetors and air cleaner, Offenhauser heads and a Halibrand quick-change rear end. The total parts expense exceeded $140,000. Every part has been documented in a build book included with the purchase. It has been serviced and fully detailed. From the Bryan Frank Collection.
