Details
This custom 1932 Ford roadster was pro-built from the ground up to show-quality standards. Previously owned By Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage, the all-steel body is finished in Plum Crazy Purple Metallic paint, laser-straight and fully sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. Pinstripes were laid out by Daniel Gay. The fully boxed chassis is as nicely detailed as the body and has a chrome dropped front axle with a Vega steering box and chromed hairpins. The rear differential is a Currie
9-inch with chrome ladder bars. This custom roadster features hydraulic brakes with period-correct Buick finned front drums and custom Wilson backing plates. Powered by an HC-code 327ci V8 engine topped with six Stromburg carburetors on an Offenhauser intake, custom Rams Horn exhaust with functional cutouts, all backed by a Muncie 4-speed transmission. The interior was inspired by the Tom McMullen roadster in two-tone black and white tuck and roll. The 'glide' front seat is adjustable, and the car features a Moon Gauges engine turned auburn dash panel. Rolls on chrome Smoothie Mercury rims with Firestone wide white tires.
